Xecotcovach

Central American - A huge bird, in the lore of the Maya. In one of their early attempts to create humans, the Mayan gods Tepeu and Gucamatz carved them from wood. When they proved unsuccessful, the gods sent four huge birds to destroy their creation. The others were known as Camazotz, Cotzbalam and Tecumbalam. Occasionally known as Xecotcovach.
