Vu-murt

Russian - A Votyak river-god. He is generally regarded as an evil being but is sometimes helpful to fishermen. He is said to appear on the bank of a river, either as a man or a woman, completely naked, combing his or her long black hair, disappearing if a human approaches. At times, identified as Vu-murt, Vu-kuzo or Vu-kuzo.
