Hindu - A rakshasa. Son of Kala and Shatahrada. A terrifying, man-eating monster the size of a mountain, he attacked Rama and Lakshmana who, failing to kill him with arrows or clubs, buried him alive. Soon after, a Gandharva appeared from the place where Viradha had been buried. His name was Tumburu and he had been cursed by Kubera who had turned him into the monster, Viradha. Also commonly identified as Viradha, Tumburu, Tumburu, Virada or Virada.
