Vamana

Hindu - The fifth incarnation of Vishnu, as a dwarf. Son of Kasyapa and Aditi. The king Bali tried to take over the powers of Indra. The dwarf asked him for just three paces of land and then became an enormous being whose three paces would have covered the whole world. He took but two steps, covering heaven and earth, leaving the third pace, the underworld Patala, to Bali. Others say that he kept the whole universe when he covered it in three steps and forced Bali down into the underworld.
