Tulsi

Hindu - A manifestation of Lakshmi or Sita. Wife of Jalandhara. Knowing that her husband was invulnerable as long as she remained faithful to him, she rejected all advances, even that of Shiva in the form of a handsome young man. Vishnu then appeared in the guise of Jalandhara and, when she allowed herself to be seduced by him, her real husband lost his invulnerability. Her curse on Vishnu turned him into the stone, Salagrama. She was turned into the plant basil by Vishnu.
