Mongolian - A man who married a princess. Tevne trapped a servant of the princess in a deep pit and forced her to reveal the identity of her mistress. The king tried to frustrate Tevne by parading a number of identicallydressed girls in front of him but he picked out the real princess and married her. The king then used his book of divinations to locate the person who had betrayed him and, when he failed, burned the book. Later, some sheep ate the ashes of the book. That is why sheep, it is said, have divine insight. In some accounts, known as Tevne.
