Central American - In some accounts, a god of slain warriors. A huge statue dug up in Mexico in 1790 had figures on both front and back, identified as Huitzilpochtli and the goddess Teoyaomiqui. Others say that there was no such goddess and that the statue is of Chicomecohuatl.
