Tarquinius Collatinus

Roman - A governor of Collatia. Son of Tarquinius Arruns. Husband of Lucretia. When the leaders of the Roman siege at Ardea paid surprise visits to their wives, Lucretia was judged to have behaved best in their absence. When she was raped by Sextus Tarquinius, Collatinus started the movement that led to the abolition of the monarchy. He became one of the first consuls of the new republic. On occassion, referred to as Tarquinius Collatinus, Collatinus, Collatinus, Egerius, Egerius, Tarquin, Tarquin, Tarquinius Arruns, Tarquinius Arruns, Tarquinius Arruns, Tarquinius Priscus, Tarquinius, Sextus or Turkin.
