Egyptian - A goddess, personification of the shesmet girdle. Consort of Sheshmu. She was depicted as having the head of a lioness and was regarded as an aspect of Bast. In some lore, occasionally referred to as Shesmetet, Bast, Bast, Ailuros, Atet, Bastet, Bubastis, Little Cat, Mau, Mew, Ubastet, Ubasti, LittleCat, Ma(a)u, Pasht, Sakhmet or Greek Artemis.
