Rhadamanthus

Greek - Ruler of part of Crete. Son of Zeus and Europa. Brother of Minos and Sarpedon. Father of Erythrus and Gortys. In some accounts, he was the son of Phaestus who ruled Crete before Minos. He was a wise and renowned lawgiver who, every ninth year, received a new set of laws from the cave of Zeus. After killing one of his relatives he fled to Boeotia. He later married Alcmene either on earth after the death of her first husband, Amphitryon, or in Tartarus where he was appointed as one of the three judges of souls. Also commonly called Rhadamanthus, Rhadamanthos, Rhadamanthos, Rhadamanthys or Rhadamanthys.
