Chinese - A Buddhist hero. When he left home on a long journey, he left money with his mother, Lady Leek Stem, to be distributed to the poor. She kept it for herself and for this she was sent to hell when she died. Radish interceded with the Buddha and she was returned to life as a dog. He then prayed for her for a whole week and she was returned to human form. Sometimes known as Radish, Mu-lien, Mu-lien, Tibetan Maudgalyayana or Tibetan Maudgalyayana.
