Poludnitsa

Russian - A female spirit. She is said to play pranks on workers in the fields. In some accounts she is a violent being whose mere touch causes death. Her preferred victims are children and women who have recently given birth. Occasionally referred to as Poludnitsa, Poldenica, Poldenica, Polednica, Polednica, Polish Poloznitza, Polish Poloznitza, Psezpolnica, Serbian Psezpolnica, Serbian Psezpolnica or Poloznitza.
