Greek - Daughter of Etearchus. Mother of Battus by Polymnestus. Persuaded by his second wife, Etearchus gave Phronime to a merchant, Themison, and told him to throw her into the sea. Themison kept his promise but attached a rope to the girl and pulled her back to safety. She became a concubine to Polymnestus and bore him a son, Aristoteles, who was called Battus.
