Central American - An Aztec creator-god, ruler of the Fifth Sun. Son of Quetzalcoatl. He was originally the god of skin diseases and is said to have burnt himself to death on a sacred fire (or was thrown there by his father) and his heart became the sun, Nahui Ollin. In some accounts he is equated with Xolotl or Xipetotec. On occassion, called Nanautzin, Nanahuatl, Nanahuatl, Nanauatzin, Nanauatzin, Poor Leper, Poor Leper, Nanhuatl or Nanhuatl.
