Muso Kokushi

Japanese - A priest. Taking shelter in a house where the owner had recently died, he volunteered to keep a vigil over the corpse and was able to see a mysterious shape which appeared and ate the corpse. It turned out to be a form of the priest Muso had met on the previous day and he confessed that he had been turned into a jikininki for being overly concerned with temporal matters. When Muso prayed for his soul, the jikininki and his hermitage disappeared and Musso found himself beside an ancient tomb. On occassion, called Muso Kokushi.
