General - A monster, part lion, part scorpion, with the head of a man. This blood-red beast was said to have three rows of teeth and a clump of poisonous spines on the end of its long tail. Some accounts say that it could shoot the spines like arrows, others use the beast to represent the devil. On occassion, known as manticora, manticore, manticore, mantygre or mantygre.
