Maidari

Buddhist - A name for Maitreya in Manchuria and Mongolia. He came to earth to teach men to revere god but was attacked with a sword by the evil Erlik. Maitreya was wounded and his blood set itself on fire with the result that the whole world, together with Erlik and his followers, was destroyed. Occasionally referred to as Maidari, Maidere, Maidere, Maidera or Maidera.
