Longinus

British - A Roman centurion. He was said to have pierced Christ's side with a spear but no such character appears in the New Testament. He is mentioned only in Acts of Pilate, a book of the Old Testament apocrypha. The spear he used appears in Arthurian legends as the Holy Lance, the Lance of Longinus or the Sacred Spear. Occasionally referred to as Longinus.
Norse - A viceroy. He sheltered Rosamund and Helmigis when they fled together and he persuaded her to poison Helmigis so that he could marry her himself. When she died from the same poisoned drink, he appropriated her treasures. Also commonly referred to as Longinus.
