Lityerses

Greek - A king of Phrygia, a farmer. Son of Midas, in some accounts. He challenged all-comers to do less than he in a reaping contest and killed the losers. He was about to kill Daphnis when Heracles killed him and gave Daphnis the throne. Occasionally called Lityerses.
Phrygian - A dirge or lament for the death of Lityerses. Sometimes identified as Lityerses.
