Norse - A sage or god of wisdom. He was made from the saliva of the gods, which they spat into a vase as part of the peace ceremony between the Aesir and the Vanir, and in some accounts he is regarded as a god of wisdom. The dwarfs Fialar and Galar became jealous of Kvasir and wanted to acquire his knowledge so they killed him in his sleep and drained off his blood into three vessels. They added honey to make a drink which inspired all who partook of it to become poets or musicians. Also commonly identified as Kvasir, Kvas, Kvas, Kvasor, Kvasor, Qvasir, Qvasir, Kvas(or) or Kvas(or).
