North American - A trickster-god of the Quinault. Indians. He changed the original giant animals into normal animals and made men from balls of dust mixed with his own sweat. When his brother was swallowed by a monster in the lake, Kivati threw hot rocks into the lake until the scalding water killed the monster, whereupon Kivati slit open its belly and released his brother. At the end of his world-forming labours he turned into stone. Sometimes known as Kivati, Kwatee, Kwatee, Kwati or Kwati.
