Kamonu

African - In the lore of the Barotse, a man who imitated god. Kamonu copied everything done by god who, at that time, lived on earth. This so upset the deity that he moved to another village, then to an island and finally to the top of a mountain. Kamonu followed him to each of these places and, to escape him, god climbed a spider's web into the sky. Kamonu cut logs and piled them up in an attempt to follow but was unsuccessful. Sometimes called Kamonu.
