Janamejaya

East Indian - Son of Parikshit. His father had been killed by the forces of the snake-king, Takshaka. Janamejaya avenged his death by a rite that trapped the nagas, causing them to fall into a fire. Total annihilation of the army was averted only by the intervention of Astika. Sometimes identified as Janamejaya, Janocmejaya or Janocmejaya.
