Hanging Hair

North American - A tree-spirit in the lore of the tribes of the north-west. She lived in a tree by a river and was unhappy when the whirlpool Keagyihl Depguesk claimed the lives of many young men of the tribe. She was the tribe's protector so she called a meeting of all the other river-spirits and they arranged to curb the whirlpool's power. In some references, identified as Hanging Hair.
