The peasant appealed to the landowner, Meritensa, who was also a judge, and he placed the matter before the king. The latter was so impressed by the peasant's eloquence that he ordered Meritensa to confiscate Hamti's property and to recompense the peasant. In some lore, occasionally referred to as Hamti.
