Father Atoja

South American - A rain-spirit of the Aymara. A magician collects several basins of water with frogs from Lake Titicaca and places them on top of the mountain, Atoja, praying to the spirits of that mountain, Father Atoja and Mother Atoja. When the sun has evaporated the water in the basins, the frogs croak loudly and the spirits then cause rain to fall. In some accounts, called Father Atoja, Atoja or Atoja.
