East Indian - A Sumatran prince. Husband of Rangkong. He shut his wife inside a tree while he was away but she was released by a servant, Sidin. When Enggang returned, he destroyed the palace where Rangkong had taken refuge and he was changed into a hornbill. Rangkong, who still loved her husband, changed herself into a hornbill to be with him. In this guise, she became Enggang Papan. In some references, referred to as Enggang, Enggang Papan or Enggang Papan.
