Elagabalus

Mesopotamian - A Syrian mountain-god and sun-god. This deity was worshipped in the form of a conical black stone. Occasionally known as Elagabalus, Elagabal, Elagabal, Elagabalus, Elagabalus, Elegabalus, Elegabalus, Elagabalus or Elagabalus.
Roman - A 3rd C. Priest of the god Elagalabus. He took the sacred black stone of the deity to Rome where he became emperor. He was killed with his minions and mother by the Praetorians to put an end to the debauchery of his four-year rule. Also referred to as Elagabalus, Elagabal, Elagabal, Elagabalus, Elagabalus, Elegabalus, Elegabalus, Elagabalus or Elagabalus.
