Hindu - A general. Husband of Kripa. Son of Bharadvaja. Father of Ashvathaman. He was said to have been born in a bucket or pot. He was told that his son, fighting for the Kauravas, had been killed and so allowed himself to die at the hand of the Pandava leader, Dhristadyumna. Ashvathaman, very much alive, sought revenge and killed not only his father's killer but many Pandava soldiers as well. At times, referred to as Drona, Acharya, Acharya, Archarya, Archarya, A(r)charya, A(r)charya, 'bucket' or 'bucket'.
