Hindu - A sage. Son of Anasuya. He was the offspring of three gods, Brahma, Shiva and Vishnu, who granted Anasuya's wish for three sons. The three were born immediately and, when hugged by her husband, Atri, melded into one body with three heads and six arms, master of the knowledge imparted by his divine fathers. Another version regards him as a teacher of yoga who produced the tantras and was deified. In some lore, occasionally identified as Dattatreya.
