Cumane

Irish - A saint. Son of Fiachna. His father, king of a Munster, who fathered Cumane on his own daughter, ordered that the child be killed but he was rescued and reared by an abbot. When he became a cleric he travelled the country preaching and eventually met and was reconciled with his father. He once went to the court of Guaire, king of Connaught to support Mac Telene's boast that Munster was superior to Connaught, which he did by sitting on an egg without breaking it. Identified as Cumane, Cumaine Fada, Cumaine Fada, Cumaine Fota or Cumaine Fota.
