Chinese - (551-479 BC). A philosopher who was deified. He was the founder of what became the state religion, Confucianism. It was said that a unicorn appeared at his birth. This animal appeared again as a portent of his approaching death and was killed by peasants. His tomb is said to be supported in space by four deities. Occasionally identified as Confucius, Kung Ch'iu, Kung Ch'iu, Kung-fu-tzu, Kung-fu-tzu, Master Kong, Master Kong, Chi-sheng Hsien-shi, Chi-sheng Hsien-shi, Kungfu-tzu or Kungfu-tzu.
