ch'iu-she

Chinese - A charm used to drive away illness. This charm takes the form of a coiled snake with a human head, made of paper. Other such charms for specific diseases are the Spring-snake charm, the Summer-snake charm, the Wintersnake charm and variously numbered coloured-snake charms and headedsnake charms. Sometimes called ch'iu-she, Autumn-snake charm, Autumn-snake charm, Summer-snake charm, Summer-snake charm, Winter-snake charm or Winter-snake charm.
