Greek - One of the Pillars of Hercules, the present-day Rock of Gibraltar. In some accounts this rock and Abyla, opposite, were originally one mountain. Hercules tore the rock into two pieces and placed them in their present positions. Also commonly identified as Calpe, Abyla, Abyla, Abila, Ape's Hill, Jebel Mousa, Jebel Musa, Mount Hacho or Jebel M(o)usa.
