Hindu - Storm-gods and gods of fire. Sons of Brighu. These deities controlled the lightning bolts and acted as messengers for the gods. Some say that they were the children of the sage Brighu, others that they were descended from Agni, the god of fire. In some accounts, these beings were Vedic priests who invented the rite of sacrifice. Occasionally known as Brighus, Bhargavas, Bhargavas, Bhrighus or Bhrighus.
