Blue Hawk

North American - An Apache warrior. His best friend Red Hawk bet that he could seduce Blue Hawk's wife. He failed but managed to persuade Blue Hawk that he had succeeded. The angry husband locked his wife in a chest and threw it into the river. As a result, her father, the chief of the tribe, had him imprisoned in a hole dug in the earth. Rescued by a fisherman, Blue Hawk's wife dressed as a man and joined a war-party, killing all the enemy with magic and was then restored to her husband. Red Hawk and an old woman who had helped him were torn apart by wild horses. In some lore, occasionally known as Blue Hawk.
