Japanese - A young poet. When he found a poem written by a maiden he prayed to Benten to help him find her. As he left the shrine he met the maiden and married her. Later he was invited to meet a man who said that, in a dream, Benten had described Baishu to him and said that he should marry the man's daughter who, it turned out, was the same as the woman he had already married, except that she was the soul of his new wife. At times, known as Baishu, Hanagaki Baishu or Hanagaki Baishu.
