Ah Kin

Central American - A Mayan sun-god. He was carried back every night through the underworld by Sucunyum ready to start his journey through the sky the following day. He was regarded as the source of cures for illness. In some accounts, he is equated with Quetzalcoatl or Itzamna. He is depicted as having a third eye, square in shape, and teeth filed into the shape of the letter T. Sometimes known as Ah Kin, Ah Kinchil, Ah Kinchil, Alcan Chob, Alcan Chob, Chi Chac Chob, Chi Chac Chob, Kinich Ahau, Kinich Ahau, Kukumatz, Kukumatz, Gucumatz, Hokomata, Kucumatz, Mayan Gucamatz, Kinich Kakmo or Kinich Kakmo.
