Adamnan

Irish - An abbot on Iona. Biographer of St Columba. He was said to have secured the release of sixty prisoners held by the Saxons by performing a miracle that held the sea back to allow his ship to land. In another story, monks looking through the keyhole of his cell saw the baby Jesus sitting on the abbot's knee. In some references, identified as Adamnan, Adamnain, Adamnain, Adhamhnan, Adhamhnan, Eunam or Eunam.
